Here’s the history behind the Ultimate Seafood Junkies….oh by the way, we’re Canadian, eh?

The lobster lady is no other than Celia Mirao, a sassy lass of Portuguese descent with over 25 years of experience in the seafood industry. Celia has over 15 years of experience in the retail business in both seafood and electronics, all with a very busy supermarket in the lower mainland. But her heart is firmly planted in the seafood business as Celia has lived her life around commercial fishing since the day she was born into a family of fishermen headed by her father, Silverio. The tradition continues with her uncle, Captain Belo, as he currently supplies fresh fish and seafood to quality establishments all over Canada, and you guessed it, even ours!

But fresh fish and seafood is only one part of what we are all about. We also offer you the finest fish and seafood meals made from super secret family recipes closely guarded and never divulged to anyone, not even us. Actually we did have some of the recipes written down on a napkin but we lost it, and we can’t find the cookbooks either….. So who is responsible for these unforgettable meals?

That’s where the other half of Celia’s family comes in, her mother Luisa. THIS LADY CAN COOK!!! You will see her “Works of Art” in the kitchen, in the freezer case, and in the full service fresh counter. Truly unforgettable dishes bursting with flavour that you can only remember from when you lived at home. Well those days are back, so grab your fork and let the eating begin!

The crabby looking Seafood Junkie is no other than Tracy Hnatiuk. A self proclaimed Esquire with over 20 years experience in the retail seafood industry and 10 years experience in the restaurant business. His roots stem from the ice cold prairies of Alberta where he grew up trying to stay warm. That must be why he wanted to work in the kitchens all those years! He made his way out to beautiful British Columbia working for a retail seafood supermarket as they were expanding out west. But now that he “knows everything”, he wants to share his wealth of knowledge of fresh fish and seafood with all who will listen. Oh by the way, he really likes to talk…
